Institutional Legacy

Our Story

A decade of investment education at Wilfrid Laurier University's Lazaridis School of Business and Economics.

Born from the merger of two legacy investment clubs at Laurier, LIFA has grown into the school's flagship student investment organization.

LIFA was formed in 2012 through the merger of two pre-existing student organizations: the Laurier Investment Club (“LIC”) and the Laurier Finance Association (“LFA”). This merger was intended to consolidate overlapping mandates, streamline operations, and create a unified organization with greater scale, consistency, and impact. By combining resources, leadership structures, and member networks, the newly formed LIFA established itself as a central hub for finance-related extracurricular development at Laurier, significantly expanding its reach and institutional presence within LSBE.
